What the hell’s going on?
Today, just minutes after my last report, the FIA publish a statement saying “Following recent reports on the interpretation of clauses in the Concorde Agreement concerning the concept of a team’s ‘participation’ in the FIA Formula One World Championship, the FIA wishes to make the following clarification:
“From a sporting and regulatory point of view, each team that has registered for the championship is obliged to take part in every event of the season. Any failure to take part, even for just one championship event, would constitute an infringement both of the Concorde Agreement and the FIA Regulations.”
Really?? So, the media miss reported Todt saying the actual words “In the final version of the Concorde Agreement it’s written that a team may be absent for three races,” did they?
So, what does this mean for our delightful little team Stefan GP? Well, with reports stating that the team has sent containers to the first four races in the hope that they will race, it would seem that this peace of news should add good cheer to the office climate in Serbia.
So is that a ‘Oui’ or a ‘Non’ then Mr. Todt? We don’t know, and frankly, I don’t think you do either…
